Stockton Unified is gathering community feedback on whether Cesar Chavez High School should be renamed.
Students, families, staff, alumni and residents have until Friday, Aug. 21 to complete a short four‑question survey and share their views. What do you think? Weigh in with The Record's poll; results will be published on Friday, Aug. 21 at noon.
Cesar Chavez High School, named after labor leader and political activist Cesar Chavez, opened as a public school in 2005. The high school is located at 2929 Windflower Lane and serves ninth through 12th grade.
The effort to rename the high school followed a New York Times investigation published earlier this year in which two women alleged that Chavez sexually abused them when they were minors and that he raped
labor leader and civil rights activist Dolores Huerta.
