National Night Out events will return to Stockton in August.
From Banner Island Ballpark to the Yosemite Street Village, and Stockton Animal Shelter, National Night Out events will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 4 around the city.
"National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live," the National Night Out website states. "National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances."
Stockton is one of 332 cities in California participating
in the national campaign, the website states. Other San Joaquin County cities and communities also on the list include Escalon, French Camp, Lodi, Lathrop, Manteca, Ripon and Tracy.
Here are five National Night Out events taking place in Stockton this year.
Yosemite Street Village Neighborhood Night Block Party
Yosemite Street Village will be hosting their annual National Night Out event from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Yosemite Street between Acacia and Poplar Streets.
Those in attendance will have the opportunity to meet local first responders, buy from local food vendors, enjoy family activities, win some giveaways and more.
"Join your neighbors for one of Midtown Stockton's favorite community traditions!" the Yosemite Street Village website states. "National Night Out is an evening of connection, celebration, and neighborhood pride as we come together to strengthen relationships with one another and our local public safety partners."
This is a free family event for all. Event attendees are encouraging to bring their own lawn chairs to the celebration, according to a flyer.
National Night Out at Banner Island Ballpark
National Night Out at the Banner Island Ballpark will kick off at 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 404 W. Fremont St., in Stockton.
"This free, family-friendly evening unites the community with the thrill of a baseball movie classic with tons of raffle prizes, giveaways, and community resources," a Downtown Stockton Alliance Facebook post states. "Bring your loved ones to this annual celebration of community!"
Doors will open for the event at 6 p.m. and a free screening of The Sandlot will begin at 7:30 p.m. There will also be food trucks, raffle prizes, giveaways, and community resources.
Stockton Animal Services for National Night Out
Stockton Animal Services will be hosting a National Night Out this year at the City of Stockton Pet Wellness & Adoption Center from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at 1661 W. Fremont St., in Stockton.
"We're excited to welcome you to the City of Stockton Pet Wellness & Adoption Center for an afternoon of family-friendly fun, community connections, and adoptable pets!" a City of Stockton Animal Shelter Facebook post states.
Those interested in adopting can meet dogs and cats during the event. There will also be food trucks, games, activities and the opportunity to meet the Stockton Animal Services team.

"Whether you're looking to adopt, learn about responsible pet ownership, or simply enjoy a fun afternoon with your family, we'd love to see you there!"

Weston Ranch and South Stockton National Night Out
Stockton's Vice Mayor Jason Lee's Hollywood Cares Foundation in partnership with Weston Ranch and South Stockton will host the 3rd annual National Night Out from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, at Paul E. Weston Park, at 3613 EWS Woods Blvd., in Stockton.
"Weston Ranch, let’s come together for one of my favorite nights of the year!" Lee said on a Facebook post. "National Night Out is all about celebrating our community, strengthening relationships, and building a safer, more connected neighborhood. I hope you’ll bring your family, invite your neighbors, and join us for an evening of fun, food, and fellowship."
This is a free event for the community. There will be Zumba, live music, food vendors, activities for families, community resources and much more.
"I’ll be there to meet with residents, answer your questions, and hear your ideas about the future of Weston Ranch and District 6." Lee said. "The strongest communities are built when neighbors know one another and work together."
FBC Kids National Night Out
The First Baptist Church of Stockton and FBC Kids will be hosting a National Night out from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at 3535 N. El Dorado St., in Stockton.
There will be free hot dogs and chips (while supplies last), carnival games, live music, prizes and inflatables, an FBC Kids Facebook post states.
This is a free event for the community.
