Travis Hunter snuck in a couple of reps on offense on the Jacksonville Jaguars'final training camp practice on Aug. 26 at the Miller Electric Center, after going exclusively on defense the previous two sessions.
He even added a reception from Trevor Lawrence, giving him 10 for the preseason.
Hunter played two snaps at wide receiver on offense during a 7-on-7 period during the Jaguars-Bucs joint practice (the two teams went against each other in only two periods), then settled into his recent routine of playing cornerback. He finished the day with six consecutive snaps with the first defense in a two-minute drill, covering tight end Nate Boerkircher well enough on one play to force Nick Mullens to throw the ball away.
Earlier in the period, Trebor
Pena caught a pass in front of Hunter on a short pattern but if full contact had been allowed, Hunter would have likely knocked the ball away.
How many snaps did Travis Hunter have in the second Jaguars-Bucs joint practice?
Hunter had two snaps on offense and 12 on defense during 7-on-7 periods, and no snaps on offense and 14 on defense during 11-on-11 periods.
Hunter had 64 offensive snaps and 224 defensive snaps in 11-on-11 periods and 12 offensive snaps and 36 defensive snaps in 7-on-7 periods.
Since the Jaguars' joint practice with Carolina on Aug. 13, Hunter has four offensive snaps and 105 defensive snaps
Hunter's season totals in all team periods (excluding two practices classified as walkthroughs and the joint practice against the Saints, when snap counts were unavailable): 74 offensive snaps and 234 defensive snaps, for 336 plays in all.
