With Tropical Storm Isaias — potentially Hurricane Isaias — spinning toward the Gulf Coast, the weather's effects are already threatening to shake up the high school sports season for Northeast Florida.
As of Wednesday, the storm has not yet knocked any Jacksonville-area high school footballgames off the schedule. However, three games have been moved up from Friday night to Thursday night.
Fort White and Madison County moved their kickoff up to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 8. Fort White (5-1, 1-0) would clinch District 3-1A with a victory. However, Madison County (3-4, 0-0) has dominated the on-and-off series, winning each meeting since 2014.
Also moving up is Baker County (4-2, 0-1) at Suwannee (6-1, 0-1), a District 2-3A football game moved up to 7 p.m.
Oct. 8 at Paul Langford Stadium in Live Oak.
In addition, Union County (4-3) and Fernandina Beach (1-6) rescheduled their football game for 7 p.m. Oct. 8 in Fernandina Beach.
