Let's face the brutal truth: "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" isn't a very good movie.
It features great performances by Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Meatloaf and, especially, the late Tim Curry. The soundtrack is filled with sing-along songs and the dance steps to "The Time Warp" are so simple that even I can do them. And you'll probably never have more fun than watching it with a crowd of wildly enthusiastic fans.

But are you really going to watch it at home? Fortunately, the Florida Theatre has you covered.
"The Rocky Horror Picture Show" has been a staple at the historic downtown theater for years. When the theater underwent a massive renovation a few years back, they reopened with "Rocky Horror," which was a gutsy thing to do, considering
that fans are known to throw toast and rice during the film.
The film returns at 8 p.m. Saturday; tickets are $37. Karrissa Wade, one of Jacksonville's leading drag performers, will handle hosting duties and Jacksonville alt-rock band Dakar will perform before the movie. Fans are encouraged to dress in costume and bring their own props, but the theater requests that nobody throw meat during the film. Info: floridatheatre.com
"Rocky Horror" is just one of the Halloween-related events on the calendar this weekend. Look here for a more complete list.
