The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed linebacker Jahlani Tavai and waived Jared Bartlett with an injury designation, the team announced.
Bartlett suffered a lower body injury during the Aug. 4 training camp practice and was carted off the field. His injury was the second to the linebacker position since camp began with second-year backer Jack Kiser suffering a right knee injury on the first day of camp. Kiser is expected to return to the practice field prior to the end of training camp.
Tavai has played in 107 games with 67 starts through seven seasons in the league. He has recorded 432 tackles, 25 tackles for a loss, 14 quarterback hits, 14 passes defended, six forced fumbles, 5.5 sacks, four interceptions and two fumble recoveries.

He spent five seasons with the New England Patriots, appearing in all four of their postseason games last year and starting in the Super Bowl.
He joins a linebacker group that is trying to replace All-Pro Devin Lloyd after he signed with the Carolina Panthers in free agency.
Foye Oluokun is a solidified starter with Ventrell Miller and Branson Combs jockeying for the starting spot next to him. Rookie Parker Hughes and Tavai rounds out the remainder of the traditional linebackers.
Dennis Gardeck, Yasir Abdullah and Jalen McLeod make up the other backers on the team, but they focus more on pass rushing as outside linebackers.
This is the second roster move that the team has made in as many days as they signed offensive lineman Sam Mustipher on Aug. 5
