What is the story about?

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence dropped back and eyed the right side of the field. He saw two-way player Travis Hunter sprinting down the field in single coverage and released a deep pass towards him.

Hunter had rookie undrafted free agent and former Colorado teammate Preston Hodge attached to him, running step for step with him down the sideline.

But at the last moment, he was able to contort his body and reel in the pass for a long gain. It marked his third highlight play of the day, and his best, making the type of catch that gave the Jaguars the confidence to trade up to get him in the 2025 NFL Draft.

"The deep reception was awesome to see. It's great

getting back out there with the guys," offensive coordinator Grant Udinski said of Hunter after practice. "He has such an infectious energy that it affects not just the receivers, probably the offensive line, coaches and everybody out there."

Hunter told reporters earlier in training camp that he's focused on shaking the rust off after missing nine months with an injury to his right knee.

It sure looks like he took steps to doing that on Day 4 of training camp for the Jaguars. Hunter snagged a reception earlier in the practice where he evaded defenders after finding the soft spot in Jacksonville's defense.

He also logged an interception against Nick Mullens where he broke off from covering a receiver and jumped the route. The highlight plays are a positive sign from him as he continues to reacclimate to the football field.

What is Travis Hunter's snap count so far in training camp?

Hunter's workload is ramping up as camp rolls along. Per the tracking of the Times-Union, Hunter has had 22 offensive snaps and 34 defensive snaps in 11-on-11 and five offensive snaps and seven defensive snaps in 7-on-7. That brings his total to 27 on offense and 41 on defense.

Hunter has caught three passes, broken up three and intercepted one.
