Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will make his debut this weekend in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Texans traded for the former first-round pick on Sunday after their game against the Tennessee Titans. They needed assistance in their receiver room and are leaning on the college connection between Harrison and quarterback CJ Stroud as they played together at Ohio State.
“Marvin will play,” Ryans told reporters during his media availability on Oct. 14.
Harrison practiced with the Texans for the first time on Wednesday as they opened their week of preparation for the AFC South match against Jacksonville.
He is still learning the playbook but will get time on the grass this weekend per Ryans.
“Don’t expect him to come in and play all 60 snaps in the game,” he said. “We’ll make sure he gets what he needs and make sure he’s confident in what we’re asking him to do.”
The Texans opened the season 1-4, not picking up their first victory until last week against the Titans who are winless this year. CJ Stroud has thrown for 1,402 yards this season while completing 64.3 percent of his passes with no interceptions, a strong start to the season for the fourth-year quarterback.
Harrison met with reporters for the first time on Oct. 14 and gave insight to how the pair will be able to pick up where they left off in college.
“Football is just football at the end of the day,” Harrison said. “Seeing things the same way, he can read my body language. That will definitely help.”
This will be the first game against the Jaguars for Harrison as he missed the 2025 game against the Jaguars after having appendicitis surgery.
