The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed cornerback Jaylon Jones and Alijah Huzzie to the team's active roster and waived/injured CB Christian Braswell, the team announced ahead of Week 5 vs. the Eagles.
The team also placed safety Caleb Ransaw on the team's reserve/injured list.
Jones, 27, signed as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Bears in 2022. He's played in 56 games (six starts) through four seasons with Chicago (2022-25).
Jones totaled 70 tackles, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one tackle for loss, and one quarterback hit, along with 31 special teams tackles. Jones totaled a career-high 12 special teams tackles last year.
Huzzie, 25, was originally signed
as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina with the Houston Texans in 2025. He played two games last season, totaling three tackles and an interception. Huzzie spent the year on Houston's practice squad.
Braswell, drafted in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, has spent the four years on the team's practice squad and active roster. He sustained a hamstring injury before Week 4 against the Cincinnati Bengals and missed the game.
Braswell has played in 26 games for Jacksonville, totaling 19 tackles (12 solos), two tackles for loss, and three pass breakups.
Ransaw, drafted by the Jaguars in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, missed all of last season due to a foot injury that required surgery. He sustained a knee injury during the team's win over Cincinnati. Ransaw played in all four games for the Jaguars this season, tallying 10 tackles (six solos).
Jacksonville sustained multiple injuries in its secondary ahead of and during its win over Cincy. They were forced to utilize younger players, who ultimately showed up in major ways.
The Jaguars are set to take a two-week trip overseas for their London series against the Philadelphia Eagles (Week 5) and the Houston Texans (Week 6).
