Jacksonville Jaguars second-year cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter recorded his first career interception during the game against the New England Patriots on Sept. 27.
Hunter snagged a Drake Maye pass intended for wide receiver Efton Chism III at the back of the endzone as the Patriots were threatening a score late in the first half.
Maye rolled to his right after faking a toss play at the goal line, hoping to find a receiver for a walk-in touchdown. But the Jaguars had it scouted and covered all of Maye's options.
As he was pressured by an unblocked Foye Oluokun and Josh Hines-Allen, Maye lofted a pass to the back of the end zone. Hunter sprung into the air and secured the ball, falling to the ground at the back of the end zone and logging
his first NFL interception.

Hunter, drafted No. 2 overall by the Jaguars in the 2025 NFL Draft, recorded nine interceptions in his college career. He logged three pass deflections and a forced fumble in an abbreviated first season in the NFL.
Hunter missed the back half of his rookie season after suffering a non-contact knee injury in practice last October. He rehabbed through the summer and was not fully cleared for competition until the start of training camp in July.
The team has slowly brought him along, implementing him more on defense this season as they allow him to take root in defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile's system.
He nearly had an interception last week against the Denver Broncos as he jumped a pass early in the contest. He deflected a pass intended for Mack Hollins early in the game against New England before eventually recording the interception just before the half.
Hunter's pick allowed the Jaguars to move the ball into position for a 70-yard field goal attempt by Cam Little at the end of the half. The kick went wide, but had the distance to become the new NFL record.
The Jaguars currently lead the Patriots 14-3 as the second half is set to begin.
