Retired Jacksonville public official John Keane has been named board chairman of First Coast Crime Stoppers, a nonprofit that pays cash rewards for anonymous tips leading to the arrest of criminal suspects.
Keane is a former deputy sheriff, firefighter, public safety governmental affairs officer and executive director of the Jacksonville Police and Fire Pension Fund.
"With Keane’s proven leadership and lifelong dedication … First Coast Crime Stoppers is well-positioned to continue advancing its mission of empowering citizens, strengthening public trust and making the First Coast a safer place to live, work and raise a family," Executive Director Chase Robinson said.
Recent "record-breaking results" include hundreds of arrests and criminal cases
