TheJacksonville Jaguars have had a week off since losing to Houston 34-31 in London on Oct. 18 and return home on Nov. 1 to play the Indianapolis Colts at EverBank Stadium (1 p.m., CBS).
The Jags have had mixed results coming out of the bye week over their 31-year history. They are 14-16 in the games after a bye (there were no byes during the COVID season of 2020) and, since going 4-1 out of the bye in their first five seasons under coach Tom Coughlin, the Jaguars are 10-15 in those games.
So rest, reflection, and retooling the scheme or depth chart haven't necessarily led to success.

Except current coach Liam Coen has had a habit of breaking molds. He reversed the 2024 record of 4-13 into a 13-4 mark last year, and when the Jags won nine of their
last 10 games coming out of a bye week, it was certainly a better finish than the year before, when the Jaguars were 2-3 out of the bye in a season that was a lost cause even before that.
Also consider that the Jaguars were humiliated 35-7 by the Los Angeles Rams in London the week before the bye, then lost Travis Hunter to a season-ending knee injury when they returned to practice. They battled back from that adversity to beat the Las Vegas Raiders, then go on to win the AFC South.
Jaguars have rare home game following a bye
The 2026 schedule is doing the Jaguars no favors, but this will at least be the first time the Jaguars have a home game coming out of the bye following a London trip.
Since the London series began in 2013, the Jaguars have had a bye the week after eight times, and been dispatched to Indianapolis three times, Tennessee, New York (to play the Jets), Chicago, Seattle and Las Vegas. The Jags were 3-5 in those games, beating the Raiders last year 30-29 in overtime.
The Jaguars are 8-7 overall in home games following a bye. They have lost their last two home games off the bye, 34-3 to San Francisco in 2023 and 23-20 to Houston in 2024. The last time they won at home out of the bye was in 2022, the 28-27 thriller against Baltimore.
The Jaguars are 1-3 against the Colts out of the bye, with the last three coming in a row, but all on the road. The Jaguars beat the Colts 17-3 at home out of the bye in 2011.
Early in the Jaguars' history, they were almost always at home coming out of the bye. They were home after an off week in nine of their first 10 seasons (going 6-3) but were on the road 14 times of the next 20 seasons with bye weeks, with a 5-9 record.
Jags playoff teams finish strong
Whether the coach has been Coughlin, Jack Del Rio, Doug Marrone, Doug Pederson or Coen, the Jaguars had played extremely well out of byes in playoff season ― perhaps an obvious statement since they were pretty good in those years. The Jaguars are 69-23 (.750) for the balance of their games following a bye week in their nine playoff seasons.
When the bye has occurred in week seven or later (as in this season), the Jaguars are even better, with a 21-3 record (.875). Coen's 2025 team and Pederson's 2022 team were lights out after the bye, with Coen going 9-1 and Pederson 6-1.
Jags against the spread out of the bye
The Jaguars are 16-12-2 against the spread coming out of the bye, according to covers.com, which compiles historical point spreads for NFL games. They are 8-3-2 ATS since 2012.
The Jags are 8-7 ATS in home games following a bye
The Jaguars have been favored in games out of the bye 14 times, and are 8-6 against the spread and 9-5 straight up.
