LONDON — Ahead of the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 16th game abroad, team president Mark Lamping said it is “natural” to believe the team will play all of their 2028 games at their renovated stadium.
“If there’s a natural year where you probably want to play every home game in Jacksonville, it would be the year you open a new stadium,” Lamping said during a 30-minute interview with the three Jacksonville media outlets that traveled to London to cover the Jaguars’ two games.
Lamping added that decision isn’t “finalized” and the Jaguars don’t have “total control over that because we don’t know what’s going to happen at the league level.”
The Jaguars’ “Stadium of the Future,” is scheduled to be completed in the summer 2028. The Jaguars are playing six games
in a limited capacity EverBank Stadium this season and will play no games in Jacksonville in 2027.
The Jaguars signed an agreement to play their 2027 home games at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. The team has the option to move three games out of Orlando, but Lamping said it is “remote,” the Jaguars will take up that option.
“I don’t think that’s a highly likely end result,” he said. “I don’t think we have the flexibility to do it.”
Lamping said the Jaguars will play a “minimum” of one “home” game in London next year.
