Think of it as John-Boy Walton meeting up with Huckleberry Finn.
Richard Thomas, the actor who first became famous as the eldest child on "The Waltons," is scheduled to visit Jacksonville in March, portraying author Mark Twain in a one-man show.
Thomas played John-Boy Walton for five seasons, starting in 1972, on the long-running CBS family drama. He has appeared regularly on TV shows in recent years, guesting on "Ozark," "Billions," "The Blacklist," "Elementary" and "Chicago P.D." He's also recently appeared on Broadway in "The Balusters" and starred in a touring version of "To Kill a Mockingbird."
He'll appear at downtown Jacksonville's Moran Theater in "Mark Twain Tonight!" The show is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 25.
It's a one-man
show originally created by the late Hal Holbrook, who first performed it on Broadway 60 years ago. Thomas is the only actor authorized by Holbrook's estate to perform the piece.
Tickets will be sold through the FSCJ Artist Series website. Prices have not been released.
