The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida broke ground on a $1.25 million teen center dedicated to middle and high schoolers in St. Johns County.
Expected to be complete in summer 2027, the DLP Capital Teen Center will be on the grounds of The Players Championship Boys & Girls Club in St. Augustine.
The 3,000-square-foot project was funded by DLP Capital
, a private real estate investment firm, and The Players Championship.
The center will "allow us to serve significantly more teens each day while providing them with a dedicated space where they can receive academic support, explore career opportunities, develop leadership skills and build relationships with caring mentors," said Paul Martinez, president/CEO of the area clubs. "It gives teens a place
where they belong and the resources and support they need to prepare for successful futures."
The nonprofit operates 55 clubs across Alachua, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties. For more information, go to bgcnf.org.
