A Yulee man died in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash Monday evening, Aug. 31, in Jacksonville, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The 62-year-old motorcyclist was driving westbound on Arlington Expressway at about 8 p.m. when his motorcycle left the roadway while exiting at Haines Street and struck a small grove of trees, FHP said in a news release.
The driver was ejected from the motorcycle into the wooded area, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, FHP said.

Through August 27, the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles reported 18 fatalities in 271 motorcycle crashes this year in Duval County. In Duval, St. Johns, Clay and Nassau counties, 28 fatalities in 425 motorcycle crashes were reported during
the same time frame.
