Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, which means we get a full 31 days of screamin' season this year.
13th Floor Jacksonville, a "haunted" attraction in Arlington, got an early jump and has been up
and running since Sept. 12, but October is when you'll find the rest of the really good stuff. You'll find the usual assortment of haunted houses, fall festivals, crop mazes and creepy events to enjoy while you think about the perfect costume.

13th Floor Jacksonville

Only four weeks are left until Halloween, which is evidently close enough for the folks at 13th Floor Jacksonville to crank up the scares. This season, you can wind your way through three mazes, Black Hollow Asylum, Detention of the Dead and Siren's Wake, plus axe-throwing, escape games and a dead zombie shoot. Terror on the Timber Farm

Spooktacular

Oct. 10-31 at the Jacksonville Zoo & Botanical Gardens. $40.
The zoo reopens at 6 p.m. on select nights for Spooktacular, a one-way trail with lights, interactive displays, a few mild scares and a skeleton disco. Tickets are sold on a timed basis (6-7:30 p.m. and 7:30-9 p.m.) to prevent overcrowding. Info: jacksonvillezoo.org
EstuScary Haunted Trail
