The skinny: After winning their first two games, the Sporting Jax women stand second in goal differential behind the Carolina Ascent in the eight-team league entering the second of seven home games in the fall sprint season. … Baylee DeSmit leads the league with three goals, including two in the second half during Sporting Jax's come-from-behind victory against Tampa Bay on Aug. 22. … Sporting Jax went 2-1 against Dallas in the 2025-26 Super League season, most recently winning 4-0 on March 22 at the Cotton Bowl with goals by DeSmit, Paige Kenton, Sophia Boman and Meg Hughes.
... Dallas midfielder Chioma Ubogagu earned three caps for England while the women's national team was coached by Phil Neville, father of Sporting Jax men's fullback Harvey Neville. … The game could potentially become a Sporting Jax debut for midfielder Cat Rapp, a former Kentucky midfielder who played in 2025-26 with the now-defunct Spokane Zephyr.
