Training Camp 2026 is a wrap for the Jacksonville Jaguars . Their second joint practice with the Tampa Bay Bucs on Aug. 26 at the Miller Electric Center was the last of the 20 preseason practices and it was a light one in spider pads. Only two periods featured the teams against each other and cloud cover provided relief from the previous day's heat, which perhaps contributed to no scraps or scuffles. Here are the observations for the final day of camp:
Player attendance
Not practicing: WR Jakobi Meyers (thumb), RB LeQuint Allen Jr. (soft tissue), RB Ameer Abdullah (presumably a veteran's day off), LB Jack Kiser (knee), OG Patrick Mekari (back), DT Keivie Rose (injury not reported).
No team work: WR Brian Thomas Jr. (shoulder) went through individual drills with
an orange "no contact" jersey.
Good news: OT Cole Van Lanen, who was taken off the PUP list on Aug. 20, competed in team periods for the first time when the Jaguars went to 11-on-11. He got a handful of plays, but it's another promising sign for his return.
Big play
With no hitting allowed, spectacular plays were minimal. But one was Parker Washington's toe-tap on the sideline in the corner of the end zone for a TD pass from Trevor Lawrenceduring a 7-on-7 period against the Bucs. One official ruled that Washington was out of bounds, but the imprints of both toes of his cleats were visible inbounds on the damp grass after the play. A replay likely would have overturned it.
Thumbs up
Rookie WR Josh Cameron had another productive day with Thomas and Meyers out and caught a deep TD pass from Lawrence during the second 7-on-7 period. … WR Michael Wortham ran a nice corner route to catch a pass from Mullens. … Lawrence was 13-for-17 in the two 7-on-7 periods against the Bucs defense, with three TD passes. Mullens was 5-for-10, with one TD. In 11-on-11 periods that were little more than walkthroughs against the Jags defense, Lawrence was 10-for-13 and Mullens 6-for-9.
Thumbs down
Lawrence and Nick Mullens were intercepted within a three-play span in the first 7-on-7 period. LB Josiah Trotter picked Lawrence and S Miles Killebrew had the interception on Mullens. … WRs Chandler Brayboy and Brady Boyd didn't help their cause with drops. … PK Cam Littlewas wide left with a 50-yard field-goal attempt at the end of a two-minute possession with Mullens at quarterback.
Next for the Jaguars
The Jags play the Bucs in the final preseason game on Aug. 28 at EverBank Stadium (7:30 p.m., FOX-30). Cutdown day is Aug. 30.
