The Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1) are set to take on the New England Patriots (1-1) following a disappointing Week 2 loss to the Denver Broncos on the road.
Jacksonville's offense will be tested again against a Patriots defense that ranks first in scoring defense and fourth in total yards allowed per game. They've given up just 155 passing yards per game through two matchups.
The Jaguars rank 17th in total offensive yards per game and 15th in points per game with 23.5.
Still, Jacksonville ranks fifth in FTN Fantasy (21.9% rating), reflecting the offense's effectiveness relative to its raw yards.
Defensively, the Jaguars look to slow down Patriots quarterback
Drake Maye. Maye has completed 67.3% of his passes for 386 yards and a touchdown. However, he has been prone to turnovers so far, throwing three interceptions in Week 1 and another in Week 2.
New England's offense hasn't put up more than 20 points this year, while Maye's passing yards per game are sorely lacking. On the ground, the Patriots have rushed for at least 100 yards in each of the first two weeks.
While Jacksonville gave up over 100 yards on the ground last week, their rushing defense remains one of the best in the NFL. In Week 1, Jacksonville gave up just 87 rushing yards in a game that was over by halftime.
Ahead of the game, Jacksonville elevated linebacker Jalen McLeod to the active roster via standard elevation. The team did not elevate quarterback Nick Mullens, making Quinn Ewers the team's primary backup to Trevor Lawrence against the Patriots.
Rookie defensive lineman Albert Regis was listed as doubtful to play with an elbow injury sustained during the week. Here's the rest of the inactives.
