The Jacksonville Jaguars will face the Philadelphia Eagles later today in Week 5, their first of two London matchups. In Week 6, the team will face the Houston Texans.
Ahead of the game, the Jaguars made
several moves to address dwindling depth in the secondary.
The Jaguars signed linebacker Jalen McLeod from the practice squad to the active roster. McLeod was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for three straight weeks. After three elevations, the team must permanently sign the player to the active roster if it wants him to suit up.
In a corresponding move, the team waived LB Jack Kiser. Kiser is likely to be re-signed to the team's practice squad once he clears waivers.
Additionally, the team elevated corner Jabbar Muhammad and safety Kaevon Merriweather from the practice squad to the active roster via standard elevation. Muhammad was elevated last week against the Cincinnati Bengals after injuries to Montaric Brown and Christian Braswell forced the two former 2023 draft picks to sit for at least a week.
The team waived/injured Braswell ahead of travel to London, while Brown is expected to play after missing last week with a hamstring injury.
Jacksonville listed 11 players on the team's injury report this week, but only two exited with game statuses.
Jaguars inactives vs. Eagles: Eric Murray won't play
The Jaguars will be without starting safety Eric Murray after the veteran suffered a concussion against the Bengals last week. Murray participated in limited practice for two days this week but was listed as doubtful on the team's game-status report.
Jacksonville also ruled out newly signed CB Jaylon Jones with a hamstring injury.
Everyone else on the team's injury report is good to go, including Brown after the starting corner missed last week's contest.
Jaguars Week 5 inactives:
- WR CJ Williams
- CB Alijah Huzzie
- S Eric Murray
- CB Jaylon Jones
- OL Daniel Faalele
- DE Wesley Williams
- DT Albert Regis
Eagles to be without multiple key players vs. Jaguars

Philadelphia hasn't been as fortunate as Jacksonville on the injury front. The team will miss multiple starters, including star running back Saquon Barkley; receivers DeVonta Smith and Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown; center Drew Kendall; and safety Marcus Epps.
