The first injury of the Jacksonville Jaguars'morning game against the Houston Texans on Oct. 18 at London's Wembley Stadium didn't involve a player.
Umpire Larry Smith, a member of the officiating crew, went down with an injury during the first quarter, halting play for several minutes.
After attention from the Jaguars' athletic training staff, the official left the field on a cart.
Smith was injured between plays, slipping on the rain-slickened surface and crashing backward hard, as shown on NFL Network replays. He tipped his cap to the crowd while being carted off.
No details were initially available on Smith's injury, which appeared to involve his lower leg.
The Jaguars and Texans were tied 0-0 at the time, with about 10 minutes remaining in the first
quarter.
