The Jacksonville Jaguars have made roster moves ahead of the start of training camp. The announced they've team signed cornerback Corey Ballentine and placed cornerback Dane Jackson on the reserve/retired list.
Ballentine was a sixth round draft pick in 2019, originally drafted by the New York Giants. He's played in 75 career games, recording 77 tackles, nine pass deflections, two forced fumbles and an interception.
He's also played a special teams role as a returner throughout his career, returning 37 kicks for 876 yards.
He joins a Jaguars secondary that's relatively inexperienced with only four other players having four or more years of experience in the NFL. He joins veterans
Eric Murray (11 years) and Jourdan Lewis (10 years) as the most experienced defensive backs on the roster.
The Jaguars will start camp on July 29 and all eyes will be on second-year two-way player Travis Hunter as he makes his return to action.
