The Jacksonville Jaguars will sign safety and special teamer Kaevon Merriweather from their practice squad to the 53-man roster, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.
Merriweather, 26, played in last week's game against the Philadelphia Eagles after injuries to Eric Murray (concussion) and Caleb Ransaw (knee), after being elevated via standard elevation. He recorded one tackle on defense, played 21 snaps (34%) on defense, and 12 snaps (44%) on special teams.
Merriweather is in his fourth NFL season after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa in 2024. The team placed Ransaw on injured reserve shortly after the win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Jacksonville will likely place left tackle Anton Harrison on injured reserve for exploratory knee surgery, expected when he returns to the States from London. Harrison is expected to miss at least several weeks, and potentially months depending on the severity of his knee injury.
The team will sign long snapper Jacob Bobenmoyer to its practice squad, and he's expected to be elevated for the game against the Houston Texans on Sunday. Jaguars LS Ross Matiscik injured his shoulder in Week 5. The injury forced Jacksonville to play defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton at long snapper in an emergency.
The Jaguars, 4-1, will take on the 1-4 Texans in a game that could decide whether Houston's season is virtually over or revitalized after beating the defending AFC South champions.
