Travis Hunter made his presence known as the third quarter ended against the Houston Texans on Sunday.
The Jacksonville Jaguars' former second-overall pick saw multiple snaps on offense and made the most of his opportunity. On the team's ninth possession, Hunter caught three passes for 40 yards and a seven-yard touchdown.
His first catch was a 26-yard catch-and-run that put the Jaguars deep in Houston territory. His final catch of the drive cut Houston's lead to just three points, 31-28, with under 12 minutes to play.
The touchdown marked Hunter's first of the season and second in his career. Both of Hunter's touchdown catches have come at Wembley Stadium in London. Last year,
Hunter had a touchdown catch against the Los Angeles Rams.
Thus far this season, the Jaguars have seldom used Hunter on offense, making him one of the team's primary cornerbacks alongside Jarrian Jones, Jourdan Lewis, and Montaric Brown.
Because of injuries at the position, Hunter's defensive playing time rose from a career-high 71.4% of the team's defensive snaps to 100% in each of the last two games. Offensively, Hunter entered this week's contest with just 21 snaps, netting zero in Week 4 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The game marked Hunter's first time playing only on defense since Jacksonville drafted him.
The Jaguars look to continue their comeback against Houston before a Week 7 bye when they fly home to Jacksonville.
