Duval dynasty: Stanton. Undefeated in girls regular season play for three years, the Blue Devils have built a Jacksonville girls dynasty with three consecutive Gateway Conference and FHSAA district championships, most recently winning District 2 last week. Gateway individual champion Bailey Forrest and All-Gateway teammates Gemma Mathews and Isabella Ricketts rolled 460 or higher in districts, while Mya Greene, Hashini Vinod, Emmalyn Gensch, Amelia Peterson
and Coraline Moos also helped the Blue Devils to first place.
In the hunt: Sandalwood also qualified second in District 2, with individual champion Lily Johns (547 pins) joining Leah Brower, Riley Clark, Emma Mullen and Kamila Walker in the lineup. From District 1, Columbia (Ashlynn Adler, Adelaide Brock, Emma Milton, Allie Withers and overall district leader Jenna Boltin) and Ridgeview (Makayla DeLorenzo, Miranda Jefferson, Addi Kochman, Emma Lundy, Mia Orrego and Katie Waters) made the state field.
Boys in action, too: Ridgeview's boys qualified from District 1 with overall leader Cameron Morton, Eli Anckner, Vincent Cintron, Brayden Smith and Javier Uzcaregui. Only three Jacksonville-area schools field boys teams in the sport.
Individual qualifiers: First Coast's Mariska Williams, Fort White's Reagan Falotico and Wolfson's Sarah Robinson.
Eye on history: Northeast Florida schools are still chasing the region's first team or individual FHSAA championship in bowling.
