The Jacksonville-based Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida has named interim CEO Callan Brown as its permanent leader, capping her nearly a decade on the organization's staff.
She was senior vice president of development, partnerships and operations before being named interim CEO in July.
"Callan has demonstrated … that she understands both the day-to-day realities facing nonprofit leaders and the larger forces shaping the future of our sector today," board chairman Sam Inman said. "She is a collaborative leader with a clear vision."
Brown succeeds Dawn Lockhart, who retired June 30 after two years as CEO.
"The environment nonprofits operate in is changing rapidly. Our role is to help organizations anticipate and adapt to those changes, rather
than simply respond to them," Brown said. "That means building stronger infrastructure, creating opportunities to share resources and expertise, developing the next generation of leaders and bringing nonprofits, philanthropy, government and business together around the challenges and opportunities facing our region."
