After four decades of weekend shopping, bargain hunting and treasure finding, the Pecan Park Flea & Farmers’ Marketis officially closed.
Known for its mix of antiques, vintage furniture, collectibles, household goods and more — along with fresh produce and prepared foods — the market welcomed shoppers for the final time Sunday, Sept. 27. With as many as 750 vendors, it had grown into one of Florida’s largest flea markets.
So, what led to the closure? And where can Jacksonville shoppers go now to find similar treasures and deals? Here’s what to know, plus other flea markets around Jacksonville worth checking out.
Why did Pecan Park Flea Market close?
The decision was not made by the market’s operators. The property was sold, and the new owners have other plans for the site.
The remaining
20 acres were purchased for $8.55 million by a partnership linked to the Butler family. The group plans to redevelop the property for an automobile dealership, bringing an end to the flea market’s longtime run.
When did Pecan Park Flea Market officially close?
The final day for shoppers was Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, marking the end of an era for the Jacksonville market.
As for vendors, they will still have access to their stalls through the end of October to collect their belongings. The gates, however, will be closed to the general public on Saturdays and Sundays throughout October, with permanent closure signs posted at the entrance.
After October, vendors will no longer be permitted to access the property.
