After opening two Chipotle restaurants in the Jacksonville area this year, the popular fast-casual Mexican grill chain is proposing another, this time on Jacksonville's Southside.
According to documents filed on Aug. 20 with the St. Johns Water Management District, Chipotle is planning a restaurant at 4461 Southside Blvd. in the Tinseltown area.
There, it proposes tearing down the former Chick-fil-A restaurant vacated in 2024 and constructing a new restaurant on the site. Chick-fil-A built and opened a new restaurant in December 2024 a block away, at the former Wild Wing Cafe spot at 4555 Southside Blvd.
According to a building permit filed with the city, Chipotle plans a 2,450-square-foot free-standing restaurant with a projected cost of $1.35
million.
Chipotle, launched in Denver in 1993, is known for its signature Mexican-inspired, made-to-order burritos, tacos, bowls and salads.
The Tinseltown restaurant would be the latest for Chipotle in Northeast Florida, after openings at 480 Durbin Pavilion Drive, Suite 104, in Saint Johns and 7952 Normandy Blvd. on Jacksonville's Westside, both in June.
