Rock bands celebrate the holidays too, you know.
Unwrapped: An Acoustic Holiday will bring together members of hard-rock acts Shinedown, Ice Nine Kills, Black Label Society, the Warning and the Funeral
Portrait for an unplugged show at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Dec. 1. Tickets, ranging from $73-$277, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18.
The event is sponsored by 107.3 Planet Radio and 101.1 WJRR.
“There are concerts—and then there are nights you know are going to be special before the first note is even played,” said Chumley, Planet Radio's program director. “Unwrapped brings some of the biggest names in rock together on one stage, strips away the production, and lets the songs and the artists do the talking. At The St. Augustine Amphitheatre, Unwrapped has all the makings of one of those magical nights where you’ll be able to say, ‘Yeah, I was there.’”
Brett Smith and Zach Myers of Shinedown, which formed in Jacksonville Beach and played at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena earlier this year, and Zakk Wylde and Dario Lorina of Black Label Society will perform acoustic sets. Other acts on the bill are Tim Montana (who really is from Montana), Boston metalcore act Ice Nine Kills, Autumn Kings (who do a great cover of "Livin' La Viga Loca"), female-fronted Mexican rockersthe Warning and Atlanta band the Funeral Portrait.
