After nearly 30 years, the good times will roll again in Jacksonville as Fat Tuesday prepares to open in Five Points.
Synonymous with festive New Orleans and known for its iconic frozen cocktails, the popular bar and restaurant plans to open Oct. 9 in adjacent storefronts.
Fat Tuesday Kitchen & Bar is taking over the 2,300-square-foot space at 1043 Park St., in the former Timoti's Seafood Shak and Karibo Five Points spot.
It will feature a full bar and full kitchen menu as well as Fat Tuesday's widely known frozen cocktails.
Next door, in a 2,700-square-foot storefront, will be Fat Tuesday Social Lounge at 1045 Park St. in the former Rain Dogs, which closed in December 2024.
The lounge will be open Thursday through Sunday, offering a more curated
cocktail menu, limited-time frozen flavors, and smaller bite options built for a late-night crowd. The lounge will feature DJs, live music and themed events.
On the menu at Fat Tuesday

Founded in 1984 on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Fat Tuesday is best known for its flavorful frozen cocktails but offers more spirits as well as classic pub grub.
- "World-famous frozen daiquiris": Frozen flavors from the 190 Octane line, including the Original and Blue Razz, with other fan favorites like Cat 5 Hurricane, Piña Colada, Mango, and Strawberry, served in your choice of cup, including the Instagram favorite souvenir Yard Dog.
- Signature cocktails: Daiquiri-based creations on the rocks like the 190 Blue Lemonade, Mango Rum River, and the Patrón Daiquirita, alongside frozen combos like the Kenny Freeze, Rocket Fuel, and Lil’ Henny.
- Full bar: Tequila, vodka, rum, whiskey, gin, and cognac from top-shelf brands, plus beer, seltzers, hard iced tea, and specialty shots.
- Full kitchen: The menu features crispy wings, loaded nachos, smash burgers, seafood baskets, and tacos, with combo deals for guests who want to mix and match.
Downtown Jacksonville "becomes the 11th in Fat Tuesday’s new wave of experience-led, full-service flagships, part of a national expansion that’s turning heads and driving viral moments," brand executives said in a news release announcing the Five Points opening.
"Downtown Jacksonville has exactly the kind of energy we build Fat Tuesday around: watch parties, live music, and people out looking for a good time," Alex Monahan, CEO of Fat Tuesday, said in the news release. "This is a city that knows how to have fun, and we're excited to be part of it."
Fat Tuesday previously at The Jacksonville Landing

Fat Tuesday was one of the original tenants of the former Jacksonville Landing, opening June 25, 1987, in a second-floor spot with a river view.
The restaurant was also a popular lunch spot, offering a selection of poor boy sandwiches as well as jambalaya, gumbo, red beans and rice and more.
After a decade, Fat Tuesday closed at the Landing in June 1997, when the center’s owner, The Rouse Co., decided not to renew its lease in an effort to remake the image of the festival marketplace, the Times-Union reported at the time.
In Five Points, it will neighbor established restaurants including EZ Eatz by Yaya, Ben & Jerry's, Hawkers Asian Street Food, Rodrigo's Craft Pizza, Hoptinger Bier Garden & Sausage House, BREW, Biggies Pizza and 904 Tacos.
