Today, Monday, Aug. 17, more than four years after Florida Microsoft executive Jared Bridegan was shot and killed in a Jacksonville Beach neighborhood, the husband of Bridegan's ex-wife will stand trial in an alleged murder-for-hire plot.
Bridegan, 33, had a new family and a nice life in St. Augustine. But he also had a turbulent relationship with his ex-wife, Shanna Gardner, with whom he shared custody of two children.
In February 2022, Bridegan had just dropped off his 9-year-old twin son and daughter at his ex-wife's home in Jacksonville Beach and was headed back to St. Augustine. With his 2-year-old daughter in the car, he stopped because of a tire on the road near the exit of the neighborhood.
In what police believe was a planned murder, he
was shot multiple times as he apparently attempted to move the tire.
There are three defendants in the alleged murder-for-hire case. Gardner and her husband, Mario Fernandez Saldana, 38, are accused of conspiring to kill Bridegan and orchestrating the murder with another accomplice, Henry Tenon.
Saldana's trial begins today, Monday, Aug. 17, at 9 a.m. ET.
