Morrisville School District is getting a new leader, and the community is invited to come out and meet him next month.
The school board is expected to approve and hire Daniel Clara as the district’s next superintendent at its Sept. 23 meeting, according to a news release from the Bucks County Intermediate Unit, which led the nationwide search.
Clara was selected from 24 candidates and comes from the Western Pennsylvania's Southmoreland School District, where he served as assistant to the superintendent for the past six years.
The Morrisville school board will introduce Clara at a public forum on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. in the Morrisville High School auditorium.
"Dr. Clara stood out from a strong field at every stage of this process because of the
depth of his experience. His passion for supporting students by providing opportunities to expand their knowledge, clear commitment to investing in staff growth and development, understanding the financial status of the district with thoughtful solutions on how to improve it, and a history of turning grant dollars into real classroom resources proved Dr. Clara is the right fit for Morrisville’s next chapter. The Board looks forward to working with him as he gets to know our schools and community," said board President Damon Miller in a statement.
Clara started his career as a high school English teacher and coach, rising through the ranks at several districts in Pennsylvania over his 30-year career. In his current post, he "led efforts to strengthen teaching, help educators better meet students’ individual learning needs, improve reading instruction, and expand professional development. His grant writing efforts also secured funding for instructional programs, student activities, facility improvements, and school safety."
The October forum will include a question-and-answer session moderated by Mark Hoffman, executive director of the Bucks IU. Community members are invited to help shape that conversation by submitting up to two questions in advance through a survey. Questions may be submitted until 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026.
Former Morrisville Superintendent Andrew Doster earned $171,500 in 2024-2025, the lowest salary of any superintendent in Bucks County that school year.
Elaine Eib has been serving as the interim superintendent for Morrisville. Her tenure began after Doster stepped down in January. He served as superintendent for less than two years, during which time Morrisville experienced a dire budget crisis that almost caused the district to close its schools.
