These standout athletes didn't need to wake up as September ended, as they led their teams to major wins last week. It was a week filled with superstar-caliber performances in the Bucks County area in soccer,
field hockey, golf and cross country. Check out the best performances of the week.
Top Performances in Girls Soccer:
Taylor Roumy, CB East
Roumy led the way in a matchup between the top two teams in the SOL Colonial Division, tallying two goals and one assist in a 3-0 win over Souderton.
Kaiya Adelman, CB South
A callup from the JV, Adelman made quite the impression when she came off the bench in the varsity game, scoring the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over CB West. Adelman had scored both goals in the JV team’s 2-0 win earlier in the day.
Natalie Walter, Pennridge
Walter scored twice, including the game-winning goal in the second half, to give the Rams a 3-2 victory over North Penn.
Xienna Bachmann, North Penn
The freshman scored both of the Knights goals against Pennridg in a 3-2 loss to the defending district champions.
Sam Waterfall, Abington
The freshman goalie excelled in the clutch, making a late save on a sure-fire shot that would have tied the game, to secure the Ghosts 2-1 win.
Lia Jablonowski, William Tennent
The senior scored two goals to help the Panthers to a comeback win on Senior Night, defeating Springfield 7-2 after falling behind 2-0 in the first half.
Leah King, Upper Moreland
King had two goals and an assist in the Golden Bears win over Cheltenham.
Myree Jean-Brian, Germantown Academy
The senior scored the game-winning goal in the second half to give the Patriots a 1-0 win against Agnes Irwin in the team’s Inter-Ac league opener.
Brooke Pavlow, Council Rock South
The junior scored the go-ahead goal against Council Rock North as the Golden Hawks won 2-0 to take home the Unity Cup in the 25th annual rivalry game between the two schools.
Adrianna Posten, Bensalem
Her goal in the second half gave the Owls their first lead of the game against Harry S. Truman, as they went on to win 2-0 for their first victory of the season.
Kylie O’Neil, Bensalem
O’Neil had a goal and an assist in the second half to propel Bensalem to a 2-0 win over Truman as the Owls celebrated their first win of the season.
Ivana Mordi, George School
She scored the game-winner for George School in a 2-1 OT win against Germantown Friends.
Maya James, Quakertown
She had two goals and one assist in the Panthers’ 4-0 win over Wissahickon.
Top Performances in Boys Soccer:

Chase Esposito, Bensalem
Esposito scored nine goals last week, leading the Owls to three straight wins. The senior netted four goals against CR South and one against Harry S. Truman in a pair of SOL Patriot Division wins, and he scored four times in a win over Central.
Brayden Muller, Souderton
He scored the game-winning goal in the final minutes to give Souderton a 1-0 victory over CB East.
Jackson Tait, CB South
Tail scored the game-winning goal against rival CB West, with his second-half score giving the Titans a 2-1 victory. Against Pennridge, he tallied three goals and one assist in the win.
John Pawlowski, Holy Ghost
He scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win over Archbishop Wood and scored again in a 2-0 victory over Archbishop Ryan, keeping the Firebirds in first place in their first season in the PCL.
Dale Wittick, Archbishop Wood
He scored three of Vikings’ four goals in a 4-0 win over Archbishop Carroll, and he posted another hat trick in a victory against Cardinal O’Hara.
Rylan Week, North Penn
He scored the Knights’ first two goals in a 4-0 win over Pennridge.
Matt Brozyna, Council Rock North
He scored twice and added an assist as the Indians topped Pennsbury 3-1 in a pivotal SOL Patriot Division matchup.
Tyler Jaskelewicz, CB South

He scored three consecutive goals to power the Titans to a Colonial Division win over Pennridge.
Ryan Brosso, Hatboro-Horsham
He scored the game-winning goal in the second half to give the Hatters a 1-0 win over Upper Dublin.
Trevor Aldefer, Souderton
The goalie recorded a shutout against North Penn, including a highlight-reel worthy save on a penalty kick that would have tied the game in the second half.
Charlie Villarroel, William Tennent
He broke open a scoreless game in the second half, scoring two consecutive goals in the Panthers’ 3-0 win against Lower Moreland.
Owen Fagan, Hatboro-Horsham
The Hatters’ goalie rejected eight shots on goal to preserve a shutout and secure a 1-0 win against Upper Dublin.
Top Performances in Cross Country:
Wyatt LaGasse, CB West
The junior took first place in the varsity boys 5,000-meter run at the Whippet XC Invitational with a time of 15:54.20.
Abby Johnston, Plumstead Christian School
She was the winner of the girls’ race at the PJAA All-League Meet, finishing with a time of 21:25.18.
Izzy Brown, Solebury School
Brown took third place in the boys’ race at the PJAA All-League Meet, crossing the line in 18:13.3.
Jack Loveman, Holy Ghost
The senior raced to a first-place finish in the boys’ 5,000-meter run at the Philadelphia Catholic League XC Meet, finishing with a time of 17:08.9. The Firebirds also took second and third in the race, as the school continues to excel in its first season as a PCL member. Younger brother Ben Loveman placed third (17:21.9), with Matthew Webster (17:21.2) in second.
Katie Sautter, Archbishop Wood
The junior took second place in the girls 5,000-meter run at the PCL XC Meet, posting a time of 21:43.8.
Tyler Benson, Germantown Academy
The senior was the winner of the boys’ 5,000-meter race at the 72nd Annual George School Invitational with a time of 16:02.5, finishing first among 167 runners.
Owen Burgess, George School
He claimed third place in the boys 5,000-meter run at the George School Invitational with a time of 16:09.3.
Top Performances in Field Hockey:
Cheyenne Greene, Faith Christian

Greene scored her 100th career goal in the Lions’ win over CB East. The Liberty University recruit netted all five of the Class 1A Lions’ goals in a 5-1 win over the 4A team.
Cissy Lewis, North Penn
Lewis had a goal and an assist to lead the Knights to a 2-1 win over Neshaminy, and she had a pair of assists in a 3-2 win against Pennridge.
Lexi Hartman, Bensalem
The defender anchored a strong defensive effort from the Owls in a 2-0 win over Upper Moreland, including making a defensive save on a shot that would have tied the game in the first half.
Ryan Burdette, Pennsbury
She scored four goals to lead the Falcons to a 6-2 win over tough Inter-Ac opponent Germantown Academy, and she had the game-winning goal, along with an assist, in a 2-1 victory over SOL Patriot rival Neshaminy.
Amelia Fernandes, Pennsbury
The goalie made five saves against a tough Neshaminy offense to secure a 2-1 win for the Falcons.
Claire Demmer, CB West
She had a goal and an assist to lead the Bucks past CB South in a 2-0 win.
Belyse Landis, Dock Mennonite
She had three assists and a goal in a 6-0 win against BAL opponent Jenkintown.
Leah Vorgity, Bensalem
She scored two goals in a win over Harry S. Truman and one in a 2-0 victory against Upper Moreland.
Rylee DeSimone, Souderton
The goalie recorded nine saves in a shutout of CB East, which was the sophomore’s fifth straight clean sheet.
Sunny Draper, Quakertown
The senior scored twice in the fourth quarter to lead the Panthers to a 2-1 win over Upper Dublin.
Kaelyn Ashley, Upper Moreland
Senior Night was extra special for Ashley, who scored a goal in a win against Cheltenham while sharing the field with younger sisters Kendra and Tirzah Ashley.
Maci Fox, Neshaminy
Fox scored three goals and added an assist to lead Neshaminy over Abington.
Jenna Evangelist, Council Rock South
She scored four goals in two days, netting two against Archbishop Wood and CR North, both wins for the Golden Hawks.
Gabi Solis, New Hope-Solebury
Solis dished out three assists after scoring the first goal of the game in a win against Lower Moreland.
Top Performance in Girls Golf:
Noor Mehta, Council Rock North
The sophomore won the Suburban One League Girls’ Golf Tournament, shooting an 81, one stroke ahead of second-place finisher Gigi Gratz of North Penn (82). Mehta trailed heading into the 18th hole, where she parred to take the lead.
