The travel agency priceline.com has named Bucks County one of the nation's top destinations for fall foliage.
According to Visit Bucks County, 2026 marked the third year in a row the county has been recognized for its charming autumn landscapes.
Bucks ranked fourth in Priceline's analysis of October hotel searches, Forbes reported. Other popular destinations for leaf-peeping include New York's Adirondack Mountains, the Columbia River Gorge in Washington, Aspen, Colorado and Bretton Woods, New Hampshire.
"Ideally located less than an hour from Philadelphia and 90 minutes from New York City, Bucks County offers visitors an accessible autumn escape filled with scenic drives,
historic towns and picturesque countryside," Visit Bucks County said in a press release.
When will the leaves change in Bucks County?
Summer 2026 has already shattered some heat records around the country, and the season is far from over.
Autumn enthusiasts, however, can look forward to Tuesday, Sept. 22: That's when fall officially arrives in the Northern Hemisphere.
As for the eagerly anticipated annual return of seasonal foliage, the Old Farmer's Almanac predicts that Bucks County will see "early color" on its trees in late September, with the most vibrant leaves peaking at the end of October.
Fall activities in Bucks County
Whether you're a local or just passing by, there's no shortage of opportunities to enjoy Bucks County's picturesque nature in the coming season.
Some of the county's most popular attractions for the fall include its 12 covered bridges. Visit Bucks County has suggested a self-driving tour to explore these historic structures.
The new rail bike experience at the New Hope Railroad offers another unique journey through the Bucks County countryside.
In addition, Peddler's Village in Lahaska — named America's top shopping center by USA TODAY — is set host a variety of autumnal events, including the Scarecrow Festival on Sept. 19-20, OctoberFeast on Oct. 10-11 and the Apple Festival on Nov. 7-8.
And Bucks County's five state parks and numerous county parks offer countless breathtaking views.
