A Warminster man is dead following an all-terrain vehicle crash over the weekend in Tioga County in the northeastern area of Pennsylvania.
The incident took place around 9:15 p.m. Aug. 16 in Rutland Township, near Wellsboro and just north of state Route 549, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Mansfield.
State police identified the victim as 64-year-old Richard Rhodes, of Warminster.
Rhodes was operating a 2018 Polaris Ranger ATV southbound on an unpaved roadway with no lane markers, when for an unknown reason the vehicle left the west shoulder and overturned on the driver's side before coming to a final rest, troopers said.
Rhodes, who was not wearing any
safety equipment, according to state police, was ejected from the ATV during the impact.
He was transported to Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, N.Y., for treatment and later transferred to Robert Packer Hospital in Bradford County, Pa., where he died from his injuries Aug. 17.
State police were assisted at the crash scene by the Mansfield Fire Department and Windy Hill Garage.
