With most Bucks County area high school football teams having played five games, we begin the second half of the 10-game regular season this weekend.
Here are five of the best matchups for Week 6. The starting times are Friday at 7 p.m. unless noted.
Wissahickon (4-1) at Upper Moreland (4-1)
This Suburban One League American Conference-opening matchup features perhaps the two teams to beat in 2026.
The Golden Bears won their first four games before falling at West Chester Henderson 33-6, while the Trojans dropped a Week 3 decision to Archbishop Carroll.
Senior running back Santino Rodriguez scored on a 53-yard interception return and 3-yard run in a Week 4 victory over Penn Wood (21-12).
In Week 5, Wissahickon downed visiting Academy Park 22-14 behind senior Ryan Kim, who ran for a 64-yard
touchdown and caught a 24-yard TD pass from junior quarterback Evan Dixon.
A year ago, Wissahickon finished 4-1 in the SOL American and UM was 3-2. Plymouth Whitemarsh, which went undefeated at 5-0, moved to the SOL Continental this season.
Plymouth Whitemarsh (4-0) at Souderton (2-3)
The five-time defending SOL American champion Colonials have moved to the Continental.
PW won its conference opener 44-8 and then had a bye last week due to Cheltenham’s season being canceled because of a pair of hazing incidents. Colonials senior running back Mike Giangiulio carried six times for 110 yards and two touchdowns, with senior quarterback Cole Reilly throwing two TD passes in his four completions against the Panthers.
The Big Red are 2-0 in the SOL Continental thanks to wins over Council Rock South (14-13) and CR North (63-6) after dropping non-conference contests to Spring-Ford, Pennridge and Central Bucks West, who are a combined 13-2.
Souderton senior running back Stone McKenna scored on three of his four carries against CR North while rushing for 96 yards.
Central Bucks South (2-3) at Central Bucks East (3-2)
The Titans have won the last three head-to-head meetings with their intradistrict rival, though CB East prevailed in five of the six previous matchups.
After losing its three non-conference games, CB South is 2-0 in the SOL National after defeating Abington (37-6) and Neshaminy (36-0) and tied for the top spot with Pennridge.
The Patriots are 1-1 in the conference, having prevailed at Neshaminy (35-21) and fallen to visiting Pennridge (26-7).
CB South senior Gavin Graham rushed 16 times for 93 yards and three touchdowns against Neshaminy, with senior tight end Sonny Wade catching a 24-yard TD pass from sophomore quarterback Trent Haviland. Senior defensive end Jacob Friedman had six tackles and two forced fumbles.
CB East senior running back Mike Price rushed for 96 yards, junior quarterback Hunter Pulford ran for a score and junior linebacker Owen Grotz recorded a game-high 10 tackles.
Archbishop Wood (4-1) vs. Neumann-Goretti (0-5) at South Philly Supersite, Saturday (noon)
The Vikings lead the Philadelphia Catholic League Blue Division with a 2-0 record, having downed Conwell-Egan 48-42 in overtime and Archbishop Ryan 14-7. Wood’s only loss was a PCL non-divisional contest against La Salle (38-24).
Senior running back D’Andre Webb rushed for 131 yards vs. Ryan, giving him 894 yards on 109 carries (8.2 average) this season. Junior running back Michah Fletcher scored on both of his attempts and senior quarterback Jack Drakeley completed 9 of 17 passes, making him 57 of 99 for 872 yards on the year.
Neumann-Goretti dropped a 4-0 PCL Blue decision to Lansdale Catholic last week on a pair of safeties.
Pennsbury (3-2) at Pennridge (5-0)
The Rams improved to 2-0 in the SOL National with a 26-7 win over Central Bucks East in Week 5 after outlasting Central Bucks West 14-7, with the Falcons topping Abington 42-0 for its third shutout of the season. Pennsbury (1-1 SOL) fell to North Penn 35-7 in Week 4.
Pennridge junior running back Trevor Picciotti rushed 24 times for a game-high 145 yards against CB East. Junior quarterback Aiden Tetkowski threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for one, while senior defensive back Sean Leuthe had 10 tackles.
For Pennsbury, junior quarterback Jack Arndt was 8-for-12 passing for 166 yards and two TDs vs. Abington, in addition to rushing six times for 72 yards and another score. Senior running back Luke Beighley rushed for a 38-yard touchdown and returned a fumble for a TD.
