The 2026 North Penn Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame class will be inducted Saturday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
Here are this year’s inductees in alphabetical order with the year they graduated, their primary sport(s) and accomplishments.
Matt Ammendola, 2015 (football, soccer)
Ammendola set a school record by kicking a 56-yard field goal as a North Penn junior in 2013 and was a soccer captain as a senior. A two-time first-team All-SOL Continental football kicker, he led the nation with 139 points for Oklahoma State in 2017.
The all-time leading scorer at Oklahoma State, he set a school record by making 18 consecutive field goals. He hit 24 of 35 field goals in the NFL for the New York Jets (2021), Kansas City
Chiefs (2022), Arizona Cardinals (’22) and Houston Texans (2023). The highlight was a 38-yard game-winner with the Texans as time expired against the Cincinnati Bengals. He also punted for the Jets.
Lauren (Crisler) Klotz, 2013 (basketball)
She accumulated 1,161 points and 841 rebounds in four years as a varsity basketball player, culminating with first-team all-state Class 4A honors as a senior. She was a two-time team captain and team MVP, as well as The Intelligencer Player of the Year in 2012-13 and an all-decade selection for the 2010s.
At American University, she compiled 851 points and 521 rebounds. A two-time team captain, she was also the 2016-17 Patriot League Scholar/Athlete of the Year.
Lori Ann (Phifer) Schmitz, 1976 (field hockey, basketball, lacrosse)
She was a team captain in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse as a senior, earning numerous top senior athlete awards. She played basketball and lacrosse at Kutztown before coaching lacrosse at North Penn in 1982. She is being inducted posthumously.
Vicky Tumasz, 2014 (basketball, softball)
Tumasz scored 1,107 points in basketball, serving as captain for two seasons, and was named The Intelligencer Player of the Year in 2013-14. She helped NP to the district championship as a senior, as well as a pair of SOL Continental titles. In softball, she was a captain as a senior and played on the 2012 district championship squad.
Tumasz scored 1,095 career points at Chestnut Hill College, hitting a total of 242 3-pointers (100 as a senior). She was team MVP in 2017-18.
Sherri Williams, 1986 (lifetime achievement award)
Williams played on three Bux-Mont League championship tennis teams (1983-85), was the Bux-Mont singles champion and team MVP as a junior and senior and went undefeated during the regular season in 1983 and ’85. She also finished fourth in doubles at the PIAA state championships.
A four-year varsity player at Georgetown, Williams was team captain as a senior, earning Big East All-Academic honors in addition to the Most Dedicated Player and Most Improved Player awards.
She has had a long and successful business career, holding a variety of senior roles on Wall Street since securing a master’s degree at Cornell.
1990-91 girls basketball team
The Maidens won their first 27 games of the season by an average of 37.4 points en route to finishing second at the District One championships. They became the first NP girls team to win a game in the state playoffs by defeating Abington Heights 82-46 after winning the Suburban One League Colonial Division with a 14-0 record.
Team MVP Mickey Wetzel and Tricia Thomas earned first-team All-SOL Colonial honors for Jim Crawford’s squad.
1994 boys bowling team
The SOL West champion Knights went 38-2 with a win streak of 24 games. Ken McCluskey (high of 266) and Mike Litnak led the way with 200 averages. Brandon Bruno (191 average), Jeff Earl (188) and Tom Hartnett (183) also earned first-team All-SOL honors.
1994 girls bowling team
The ’94 girls team was 39-1, winning 32 in a row, and secured a second straight SOL West title. Jen Ryan (235 high game) was at the top of coach Ron Jaros’ deep lineup, averaging 176. Tara Kelly (164), Diane Fitch (144) and Angela Townsley (141) followed right behind.
