Police are investigating a car accident that closed Centennial Road in Warminster on Wednesday afternoon after a driver struck a utility pole causing live wires to come loose, police said.
The single-car accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. Oct. 21 when a female driver traveling south left the road and hit the pole in the 300 block of Centennial Road, splitting the pole in half, police said in a Crimewatch post. The driver then ran from the scene, police said.
Both north and south bound lanes of Centennial Road will remain closed until PECO workers are able to secure the live wires, police said. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
Police are asking residents and businesses in the area of the accident to provide and surveillance video or other
information about the accident at 215 -672-1000 or through the police department's Crimewatch page.
