Week 5 of the high school football season in Bucks County is already here, and there are plenty of good matchups on tap this weekend.
Let's take a look at the Five Games to Watch (all games Friday at 7 p.m. unless noted):
North Penn (3-1) at Central Bucks West (3-1)
Who is the top dog in the Suburban One League National Conference?
Is it the Knights? Pennridge? West? Or CB East?
We'll find out a lot on Friday.
North Penn comes in after thumping Pennsbury 35-7 last week in a game the Knights led 35-0 after one quarter.
Senior running back Rylei Gray had a pair of touchdowns in the win, and senior linebacker Sal Colella returned a fumble for a score in the victory.
The Bucks and Pennridge went down to the wire before the Rams scored in the final minute for a 14-7 win.
West senior running back Nick
Miletto, an Army commit, ran for 88 yards in the loss and also made a pair of tackles for loss.
Pennridge (4-0) at Central Bucks East (3-1)
The Rams, who have allowed just three touchdowns through four games, knocked off CB West 14-7 in the SOL National opener for both teams last week.
A 36-yard touchdown pass from junior quarterback Aiden Tetkowski to senior receiver Sean Leuthe with 28 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter was the difference against the Bucks.
Pennridge junior linebacker Blake Landherr, who also caught a touchdown pass, made nine tackles (three for loss) and recovered a fumble in the win.
As for the Patriots, who have won three straight games, they used a pair of rushing touchdowns from both seniors Liam Hoey and Mike Price to upend Neshaminy 35-21.
Price and Hoey combined for 305 rushing yards on just 30 carries.
Archbishop Wood (3-1) at Archbishop Ryan (1-3), Saturday, 1 p.m.
With both of these teams now in Class 3A, this one could be a Philadelphia Catholic League preview that we may see in a few weeks.
The Vikings are coming off a wild 48-42 overtime win over Conwell-Egan last week.
In that one, senior running back D'Andre Webb rushed for a game-high 203 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries.
Webb already has eight rushing touchdowns and over 700 rushing yards through four games.
Vikings senior quarterback Jack Drakeley also had a huge game against the Eagles as he threw for 291 yards and four touchdowns.
The Raiders, who scored just 13 points total in their first three games, rolled past Lansdale Catholic last week 46-0 for their first win.
Ryan only allowed the Crusaders 40 yards of offense and received a pair of rushing touchdowns, and a touchdown catch from running back Kazmaire Kelly.
Central Bucks South (1-3) at Neshaminy (2-2)
The Titans, after opening the season with three straight losses, upended Abington 37-6 last week for their first win.
South, which led 37-0 at halftime, were led by senior running backs Colin White and Gavin Graham, who combined for 147 yards and a touchdown (by White) on just nine carries.
As for Neshaminy, it gave CB East a battle before dropping a 35-21 decision.
Senior running back Brock Williams ran for a team-high 123 yards and two touchdowns for Neshaminy in the loss.
Upper Moreland (4-0) at West Chester Henderson (3-1)
The Golden Bears remained undefeated with a 21-12 win over Penn Wood last week in which they fell behind early before rallying.
Senior linebacker/running back Santino Rodriguez led the way with a 53-yard interception return for a touchdown in the second quarter to go along with a 3-yard touchdown run in the third quarter that put Upper Moreland up 21-12.
West Chester Henderson, which is averaging nearly 30 points a game, topped Upper Merion 43-16 last week.
