Week Three of the high school football season in the Bucks County area is already upon us.
Yes, it goes by fast. It always does.
With that always in mind, let's take a look at 5 Games to Watch for this weekend. Remember, there are games on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday again this week.
Thursday
Pennridge (2-0) vs. Council Rock South (2-0) (at CR North), 7 p.m.
One of the top teams from the Suburban One League National Conference against one of the top teams from the SOL Continental. I like it.
The Rams, who won the SOL National last year and reached the PIAA District One Class 6A title game, have been solid from the start. In two games, wins over Bethlehem Liberty and Souderton, they've allowed just one touchdown and 11 total points (all against the Big Red in a 28-11 win last Thursday).
Junior linebacker Blake Landherr
(11 tackles against Souderton) leads the defense while junior quarterback Aiden Tetkowski had a pair of touchdown throws in that win.
The Golden Hawks, who won the SOL Continental in 2025, used a blocked field goal return for a touchdown from senior Brody Walker and a long touchdown reception by Walker to knock off Perkiomen Valley 13-10 last week.
Neshaminy (1-1) at Quakertown (0-2)
After opening its season with a win over Emmaus, Neshaminy traveled to Manheim Township last week and suffered a 35-14 loss in a game it trailed 28-7 at halftime.
The highlight of the night for Neshaminy was an 82-yard touchdown run by senior Brock Williams late in the third quarter.
The Panthers, whose first two opponents, Southern Lehigh of District 11 and Owen J. Roberts, are a combined 4-0, lost to the Wildcats 21-14 last week.
Junior quarterback Carter Tucholski threw for 77 yards and a touchdown in the loss to go along with 40 yards rushing.
Friday
Father Judge (2-0) at Conwell-Egan (1-1), 6 p.m.
The PIAA Class 6A Crusaders of the Philadelphia Catholic League Red Division have opened up with two Class 3A foes from the PCL Blue Division in Archbishop Ryan and Lansdale Catholic and face another PCL Blue side in Class 4A Conwell-Egan.
In their win over LC last week, the Crusaders' defense piled up five sacks along with interceptions from Robert Gormley and Xavier Diaz.
The Eagles, after opening their season with a win over St. Joseph's (Hammonton, N.J.), fell to Cardinal O'Hara of the PCL Red Division 34-7 in a matchup of Class 4A programs.
Senior Dane Austerberry led the defense in the loss with a game-high 10 tackles.
Lower Moreland (2-0) at Upper Moreland (2-0)
The Lions are off to a quick start, especially offensively, as they've put up 83 total points in their wins over Vaux Big Picture and Samuel Fels, both of the Philadelphia Public League.
They upended Samuel Fels 32-6 last week.
The Golden Bears, after beating Frankford in their opener, topped Bensalem 20-7 last week.
The defense made the difference in that one as sophomore Julian Melendez and senior Benedict Holcombe both returned interceptions for touchdowns to seal the win.
Saturday
Archbishop Wood (2-0) vs. La Salle (0-2), 1 p.m. (at William Tennent)
These two meet for the first time since 2022, when the Explorers eked out a 6-3 win in overtime.
Thus far, the Vikings have wins over Central Bucks South and Germantown Academy, whom they beat 38-34 last week. Senior running back D'Andre Webb had a pair of touchdown runs in the victory over the Patriots.
Since jumping out to a 14-0 lead against Paramus Catholic (N.J.) in their opener, the Explorers have been outscored 56-0.
They lost to Paramus Catholic 35-14 before falling to Malvern Prep of the Inter-Academic League 21-0 last week.
