A Trevose spot returns to the top in our 2026 Bucks County Pizza Poll.
To celebrate the best local pizzerias around, we asked readers to share and vote for their favorite pizza places in Bucks County, and the results are in. Mama Russo’s Pizzeria, a family-owned shop along Philadelphia Avenue, grabbed the No. 1 spot for a second year in a row.
Thanks to its creative pizzas, hearty sandwiches, quality ingredients and consistency, as well as its welcoming environment and friendly staff, Mama Russo’s owners Vito and Phil Russo have built a loyal following of customers since opening in 2020 in the former location of their parents’ 30-plus year old pizza shop, Chicco’s.
“Our dad came here with nothing but a dream. And what it grew into wasn’t easy.
Everything we have was worked for,” Vito said in an interview after last year’s win, which they shared with A & G Pizzeria Locale.
“We take pride in what we do here. We’re here every single day — me, my brother and my son, who helps out on Friday and Saturday nights. For a business to be successful, you have to sacrifice. And it’s worth it because people appreciate it.”
The hard work the two brothers have put into the business was reflected throughout the nominations with comments such as, “They are very family oriented and full of laughter and fun. [You’re] not just another paying customer, they make everyone feel like they are family.”
Added another person: “Consistent, excellent food, both pizza and full dinners, sandwiches that are hearty with always the best ingredients and little filler, and service from the staff, many of whom are family or have been there for so long they are like family. The flavor is complex and the combinations of the pizza, always creative."

In addition to traditional and gourmet pizzas, their menu includes calzones, strombolis, pinwheels, sandwiches, hoagies, burgers, cheesesteaks, wings, salads, wraps, pasta dishes and many other Italian specialties.
Some of Mama Russo’s bestsellers and must-try items are:
- Vito’s Brooklyn Pie, a thin crust with mozzarella, fresh mozzarella, chunky tomato sauce, olive oil and fresh basil.
- Nino’s Honey Roni, a thin crust with mozzarella, fresh mozzarella, chunky tomato sauce, olive oil and pepperoni cups topped with fresh basil and drizzled with honey.
- Pinwheels, which are available in several varieties including cheesesteak, broccoli and cheese, buffalo chicken and rotating specials.
- Mr. Cooper Cheesesteak, which has steak and cooper sharp cheese on a choice of seeded or non-seeded roll.
