A 60-year-old man died on the 4300 block of Kostoryz Road after he was struck by two vehicles early July 31, according to the Corpus Christi Police Department.
Police say the 60-year-old pedestrian was in the roadway and failed to use a crosswalk at the time of the crash, public information officer Madeline Commons said in an email.
Officers responded to a report of a major vehicle accident involving a pedestrian at 6:32 a.m.
Traffic investigators were called to the scene and determined that the pedestrian was heading east across 4300 Kostoryz Road when he was struck by the first vehicle.
The impact caused the pedestrian to be forced into the northbound lanes,
where he was struck by a second vehicle.
Investigators determined the pedestrian was not using the crosswalk to travel across Kostoryz Road.
Both drivers remained at the scene after the accident.
Police say alcohol did not play a factor in the crash.
