The city’s splash pads will be open for play through mid-October – an extension of the typical summer schedule.
The five splash pads will operate between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on each weekend, beginning this weekend and through the weekend of Oct. 18, according to a news release issued Sept. 17.
The idea driving the decision to open the popular attractions is “to provide families with fun and enjoyable outdoor activities while helping children stay active and cool off during the ongoing warm weather,” the email states.

Splash pads are located at the following parks:
Lindale Park, 3133 Swantner Drive
Cole Park, 2030 Ocean Drive
Salinas Park, 1354 Airport Rd.
West Haven Park, 1718 Cliff Maus Drive
Bill Witt Park, 6809 Yorktown Blvd.
