An 18-year-old man died on Sept. 12 in a single-vehicle crash while traveling south on Farm to Market 70 near County Road 14 in Nueces County, a Texas Highway Patrol news release said.
Kevin Aguilar, of Alamo, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene after being ejected from the vehicle, according to Sgt. Rob Mallory.
Troopers responded to the crash just before 7 a.m. and determined that, right before the crash, Aguilar was hanging out of the passenger window of a Ford F-150 and grabbed the steering wheel, causing the vehicle to leave the roadway to the right.
The 19-year-old driver attempted to get the vehicle back on the roadway but overcorrected to the left, causing it to enter a skid before rolling over multiple times, the news release said.
The driver and another 18-year-old passenger, both from Donna, were treated and released at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by troopers from the Highway Patrol Office in Corpus Christi.
