After months of preparation, the Texas high school football season begins this week in Corpus Christi with a number of appealing Week 1 contests.
The Battle of the Bridge is contested on Thursday at Buc Stadium between Gregory-Portland and Carroll, while Miller and Flour Bluff clash Friday at Hornet Stadium in a battle of powerhouse squads.
Alice will christen the new Memorial Stadium on Friday against Beeville after not playing a true home game in 2025.
Coach James Villarreal and his Tuloso-Midway squad square off against the school he graduated from, Sinton, in another intriguing matchup.
Robstown and Bishop and Orange Grove vs. London are two more battles that will tell us a lot early in the season.
