Bass Pro Shops continues to maintain interest in locating a store in Corpus Christi, according to city staff, nearly two years after an announcement of the company's consideration.
There are several sites being reviewed, but there have been “no submitted development plans or incentive requests received,” according to a presentation made before the City Council.
The July 28 update was requested by three council members.
Mayor Paulette Guajardo and Bass Pro Shops real estate representative Mike Dunham had announced the company’s consideration of a store location in Corpus Christi in a news conference Oct. 16, 2024.
However — up until July 28 — there has been little public information disclosed.
Bass Bro Shops representatives did not immediately respond
to an email sent by the Caller-Times on July 27 requesting clarification on the company’s plans.
