Halftime Showcase back with Corpus Christi ISD bands, drill teams

Sept. 24

• Taste of Aransas Pass — Monster Mash Edition: Start Halloween early with the annual Taste of Aransas Pass: Monster Mash Edition at the Aransas Pass Civic Center at 700 W. Wheeler Ave. in Port Aransas. Enjoy an evening of food, cake walks, auctions, photos, costume contests and more. Time: 5 to 7 p.m. Cost: Free for children aged 3 and under; $15 for children aged 4 to 10; $25 for adults; and $250 for a private table. Information: aransaspass.org.
• Celebration of Charity: Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi and Mother Teresa Shelter invite the community to the Hilliard Center for an evening of fellowship, faith and philanthropy at the annual Celebration of Charity at 1901 N. Shoreline Blvd. The evening will feature speakers, an award presentation and more. Proceeds will benefit the programs and services at both nonprofits. • The Expendables: House of Rock will host reggae rock band The Expendables at 7 p.m. Cost: $29.65 to $35.15. Information: texashouseofrock.com.
• "The Addams Family": Join Harbor Playhouse for its production of "The Addams Family." In this musical about everyone's favorite spooky family, Wednesday Addams falls in love with a "normal" guy. Time: 7:30 p.m. Cost: $20. Information: harborplayhouse.com.
• "The Rocky Horror Show": Join Aurora Arts Theatre for its annual production of Richard O’Brien’s "The Rocky Horror Show." The show is recommended for ages 15 and older. Time: 7:30 p.m. The run is sold out. To be put on a waitlist, call 361-851-9700. Information: auroraartstheatre.com.
• West Bound Hearts: Brewster Street Ice House will host country band West Bound Hearts at 8 p.m. Cost: $15.25 to $25.20. Information: brewsterstreet.net.

Sept. 26

• Run the Runway: Head to the Corpus Christi International Airport at 1000 International Drive to take part in the annual Run the Runway. Enjoy a scenic run or walk on one of the airport's runways while getting up-close views of planes, trucks, special vehicles and more. A 1K Kids Fun Run will kick off the race, followed by an out-and-back 5K walk or run with all proceeds benefiting Wings of Texas. Time: 6:30 a.m. Cost: $20 to $40. • Walk for Memory: Take part in the 19th annual Walk for Memory, a community event benefiting Coastal Bend families affected by dementia, at Cole Park. The ceremony will start with a pre-walk warm-up, followed by the walk, post-walk Zumba, raffles and prizes. Time: 9 to 11 a.m. Cost: Free. Information: facetofaceus.org.
• Mid-Autumn Festival: The Texas State Museum of Asian Cultures & Education Center will host its Mid-Autumn Festival at 1809 N. Chaparral St. The event will feature cultural traditions, entertainment, food and family-friendly activities. The festival will start at 3 p.m. and a dance party will begin at 8 p.m. Cost: $5 to $8.
