A new restaurant and a discount-retail store could be on the way for the London area.
A Dollar General location and a La Michoacana drive-thru and walk-up eatery are proposed for the rapidly growing corridor — both properties abutting Corpus Christi’s corporate limits, city documents show.
Both property owners are requesting that the land where the development is proposed be annexed into the city and rezoned from a farm rural designation to permit construction, according to documents included in an upcoming City Council meeting agenda.
If plans move forward, La Michoacana, described as “a small fast-food restaurant,” would develop a location off County Road 47 and Farm-to-Market 43, a memo states.

Documents describe the proposed Dollar General location as developing a 1.4-acre property to include a roughly 8,500-square-foot store.
City records show its proposed location as bounded by Farm-to-Market 43, County Road 47 and State Highway 286.
The council is expected to take a vote on the requests for both businesses Sept. 8.
