Hurricane Isaias made landfall hundreds of miles away from Corpus Christi, but its powerful churn still brought coastal flooding to the beaches and a high risk for rip currents.
Gulf waters at one point had reached high enough to touch the dunes.
But on the morning of Oct. 11, receding waters and low tide revealed little change to the shoreline but a wider beach.
The water remains hazardous, and red flags planted at beach entrances warn of strong currents and high surf.
A coastal flood advisory remains in effect through 1 a.m. on Oct. 13, according to the local office of the National Weather Service — meaning there is still a chance water may reach the dunes again.
